GeoGardenClub 2026 Marketing Intern Program
- Location: Remote, with virtual meetings and occasional in-person check-ins in Bellingham
- Duration: April 1 - June 30 2026, with some flexibility
- Hours: Part time, approx. 10–12 hours per week
- Compensation: Unpaid; receive a letter of recommendation and support for receiving course credit

GeoGardenClub is an app that helps gardeners plan, manage, and share harvests and information to build stronger, more resilient local food systems. Founded by a team of community-minded technologists and gardeners, we’re on a mission to make gardening easier, smarter, and more collaborative while promoting the collective impact of growing food.
Position Overview
We’re seeking a creative and motivated Marketing Intern to expand GeoGardenClub’s membership and enhance user experience. This role offers hands-on experience in digital marketing, brand storytelling, and grassroots marketing. You’ll work closely with our team to plan and execute campaigns for local and national audiences.
By the end of the internship, you’ll have hands-on experience in building and executing digital marketing campaigns from concept to analysis, creating, testing, and optimizing content for social media and email marketing, managing brand voice and visual consistency across platforms, measuring and interpreting marketing performance metrics, and community-based marketing and outreach.
Key Responsibilities
- Social Media Campaigns: Develop and implement a multi-platform social media strategy (Instagram, Facebook, and others), including content planning, posting, and engagement.
- Paid Ad Campaigns: Design and run targeted paid ads, track performance, and adjust strategies for best results.
- Content Creation: Create monthly newsletters, flyers, and brochures highlighting app updates, user stories, and gardening tips.
- User Engagement: Support outreach to early adopters and local gardening groups; gather testimonials and user-generated content.
- Event Promotion: Represent GeoGardenClub at local community and gardening events through tabling, distributing materials, and connecting with potential club members.
- Performance Tracking: Use analytics tools to monitor engagement, reach, and conversion metrics; recommend optimizations based on data.
- Weekly Check-ins: Meet regularly with Co-Founder to share updates, brainstorm content, and set weekly priorities. (Virtual and in-person at a local coffee shop)
Qualifications
- Enrolled in a college or university marketing program
- Strong written and visual communication skills
- Experience with social media management (Instagram, Facebook)
- Experience with design and communication tools (Canva, Mailchimp)
- Organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple projects independently
- Passion for sustainability and strengthening local food systems
- Bonus points for experience with vegetable gardening, Google Analytics, or Apple Ads
